Celebrate

If you’re thinking about your holiday outfits, you’ve come to the right place. This weekend I put together two outfits that might inspire that two faced (no pun intended) girl in you.

For the ultimate girly girl, a flirty romper with so many potential looks, is a great start to the holiday season. One way you can dress up this romper is by adding black tights (without is also fine, but I would go with a pump if you decide to show some skin), a standout cocktail ring and a suede black clutch to match these bad ass Zara booties. I noticed an extra emphasis on the body by wearing this romper so all body types are welcomed, feel free to add a belt to accentuate your waist. Let your hair down and party the night away!

Now if you’re not in a girly, girly mood this season, sporty and minimalistic is another way to dress for all the festivities. A football jersey inspired top that’s silky and flowy tucked into a high waist skirt, top it off with an ankle strap heel and you got yourself a simple, but charming party outfit. Pulling your hair up into a ponytail with this look keeps it cool and sophisticated. Try it!

As for me, I like to have many choices according to my mood and most importantly my personality. Stay true to yourself and your closet.

Which black and white outfit would you wear? Are you the flirty girly girl or the sporty girly girl?

Paint The Town Red

Knitwear is always a must during the winter time. The visible 3D knitting is something I look at when I buy it and most importantly it keeps you warm. I can’t have too many patterns on my knit sweaters, it has to be very simple or black and white. When fashion magazines and blogs talk about monochromatic trend, normally you think all black and that’s pretty much it. Lately that’s been my uniform, but I decided to take the road less traveled for Ugly Sweater Party weekend. I brought out my red sort of ugly, but mostly pretty sweater to the streets of New York City. I went full on red (favorite color after black, afterall) to keep the Christmas spirit alive; red heels, red nails, and red lipstick. Red is an energetic, passionate color and sometimes you have to let your outfit do the talking.

What are your favorite colors to monochrome?
Did you all wear your ugly Christmas sweaters this weekend?

Have a lovely week!

Let’s Get Together, Yeah Yeah Yeah

This time of year, you’re going to your office holiday parties, mix and mingling with coworkers. Normally it’s hard to get the guys together in one place at the same time for an office party, but this time I planned in advance for our small get together. We all went to a restaurant close by that recently opened, Anejo TriBeCa for some tortas and tacos. If you’re having a margarita, make sure you know which tequila you want, they have a vast amount to choose from! I went with a classic Anejo tequila and it was everything and more. Every time I walked by the restaurant on my way home I would stand at the light admiring the chandeliers. I can’t blame Sia for making such an ear worm that is “Chandelier”. Overall, the place is ideal for a happy hour with friends.

Office party looks are usually a treat because you get to add some festive and sparkly touches to your otherwise work appropriate look. It’s been a little crazy trying to settle into my new place so black has been my savior during these times. The only sparkle I added was this multi black stone cocktail ring I borrowed (shhh!) from my sister months ago! I also have the grey version! The cold has never stopped me from slipping into a dress or skirt, but oh boy was it a cold one. This duster coat from Forever 21 was a Cyber Monday purchase I couldn’t resist. I’ve been eyeing this coat ever since it came out, but it just wasn’t cold enough. Unfortunately I waited too long and only one color was available in my size. Don’t you just hate that?

FYI: I’ve been keeping busy at the law office and working on my 2015 blog goals. I mean it is just 18 days away right?

What do you wear to your holiday parties? What were your Black Friday and Cyber Monday buys?

Have a beautiful weekend!

H is for…

Him. Last night I celebrated his birthday at our favorite Italian restaurant, Isle of Capri. Fine dining and best of all great service. Then we walked over to the fifth avenue holiday window displays to get into the Christmas spirit. I really love to see what they come up with every year; Bergdorf Goodman’s theme is The Arts: Music, Literature, Dance etc. Birthdays are always a celebration -another year alive and well. For me, that’s reason enough to dress up. The weather was awful. Rainy, gloomy days are a drag to get dressed for. However, for a special person like he is, I put on my very best. This Altuzarra for Target dress is just the beginning of holiday party looks…

How do you celebrate birthdays? Do you dress up or is it just another day for you?

Just Because

My parents just moved to an apartment in Midtown Manhattan. My mom is super excited to be back in our old neighborhood, next to my elementary school, close to my aunt’s house, and everything else Hell’s Kitchen has to offer. I especially can’t wait to visit the holiday window displays at fifth avenue. I arrived to this year’s Thanksgiving early with my sister, but my mom had already started the cooking. While waiting for the turkey, my photographer and I decided to take some outfit pics in the park across the street.

Cold weather can make you not want to set foot outside, but I finally got to wear this jumpsuit I had planned to wear earlier in the Fall. I’m loving jumpsuits right now. If you do too, make sure you adjust, every so often. I pulled up my pants so that the lace up shoes can show, and unbuttoned one button. I wanted to showoff my waist for an overall balance. I braved the temperatures in lace up sandals and no coat! It’s been 3 days since the shoot and thank goodness I feel fine! I planned my manicure color first and worked the outfit around it. It was a color I knew I had to wear now before all the usual reds and golds for December holiday madness.

This has to be one of the best shoots in a long time. The creativity, setting and shots were all done by my photographer, @zamansam (Instagram).

Will you be wearing jumpsuits this Winter?
How was everyone’s Thanksgiving?

This Means Business

Back to cooler temperatures, I toughed it out in my biker jacket, studded pumps, torn skinny jeans and made it work appropriate with a button up shirt to the top and a bright red lip for some exxxtra sexy. It’s Black Friday I know many of you are out there toughin’ it out at your favorite stores. Hope you all get what’s on your buying list!

Happy Shopping Day!

Hope you’re all enjoying the long weekend (breaking the bank)!

Ch-Ch-Changes

This past Monday was a life changing experience for me. For some it wouldn’t have been that dramatic, but trying to keep your apartment was a big deal to me. After a successful meeting with the landlord, I can now breathe easy and enjoy the holidays. To make it even better, the weather was a high of 70 degrees! You know what that means? Open toe shoes! Yes I went as far as looking like I was cut out of a Resort 2015 ad! A button down safari shirt, denim skirt, camouflage sandals and sunglasses that scream I’m ready for a vacation! After all this I think it’s time for one, so even if I couldn’t book a trip, I had to dress the part. For now,  I’m just happy to be spending Thanksgiving with my parents in their new home.

How will you spending Thanksgiving this year?
Any vacation plans in 2015?

Have a wonderful and grateful Thanksgiving weekend!
