“Hey, hey, hey…” this weekend I went to my brother-in-law’s birthday BBQ at their home in Jersey. I find BBQs to be what summer is all about; spending time with the family and indulging in the finer things in life: FOOD. To honor one of the kinds of foods at BBQs, I chose to wear my vintage Moschino Cheap and Chic strawberry wedges. Trends are really tricky and some of us are afraid to try them or get caught up in every single trend. You don’t want to spend money on a piece of fashion that’s never going to be in style again. That’s where these wedges come in, I bought them about 5 (maybe more) years ago not thinking about if they were in style or not. In the moment, I just loved them, still do. They normally come out in the summer and sometimes they don’t come out at all.
With today’s pineapple print craze, I thought I’d throw a strawberry (wedge) into the fruit bowl, pair them with a denim circle skirt and a beige basic top to stay within the color scheme to keep it simple. If you want to invest in something like shoes and handbags that in the moment were on trend don’t worry because it will come around again, even if it is 5 or more years later. Most of all remember it’s your style, you wear what you want, when you want.
What’s your BBQ style?
Goodbye May!
