I’ve been dying to wear this skirt, but when you’re a girl with a few bumps on the road, sometimes it takes more than just buy it and wear it. Curvy girls (I’m also petite) have trouble in the bottoms department: jeans, pants and skirts are sometimes impossible if you don’t prep yourself before shopping for them. There really is only a 50/50 chance of accomplishment. You want it to fit your waist, but you also want it to fit your hips and thighs! I really had to have it, but I knew the small wasn’t going to fit past my thighs, so I went for the medium, then of course it was too big on the waist. I took it to my tailor and told him to please take it in! He really does a great job every time. If you’re in love with something and all you need are minor adjustments, I say go ahead and buy it! I paired my problematic skirt (but perfect in the end) with my favorite denim shirt and my lace up Schutz heels. I love shoes with lace up details and zippers. For work I made sure the skirt was high enough not to reveal any skin. You can do the same or tuck it in if you’re not into the cropped top look. A little Nars lip for yesterday’s National Lipstick Day and there you have it!
How do you feel about baring your midriff?
Have you added lace up heels to your shoe collection?
Are you a regular at your local cleaners?
Have a great day!
xoxo, Budget$ai
