Fresh End To A Fresh Start

Last week I went out on my lunch break for some retail therapy. After Christmas, the deals are phenomenal, especially at Joe Fresh. I racked up on some much needed essentials, like this dolman tee. Basics can always be mixed in with the next set of trends, sometimes you’ll buy something now and still wear it for seasons to come.
I love a slouchy top, boyfriend jeans (also from Joe Fresh) and pumps on a casual running around kind of day. Yes, I run in heels!
What trends do you look forward to in 2015?
Roomy denim? Military greens? Shirtdresses? Or maybe you’re as excited as I am to try All White Everything?
Have a Happy and Safe New Year! See you all in Twenty Fifteen!

Just Like Animals

The office had one more holiday lunch. What better way than to celebrate (again) in full blown leopard. I will always be a fan of leopard, but just remember if you’re not comfortable with it, less is more. You start off small and then work your way to a more bold wild animal piece like I did here. Also try not to accessorize much, you don’t want to look like a Christmas tree. I haven’t worn this dress out in so long nor have I ever worn it here in the City -a reminder that a vacation is getting closer and closer for me. Are you feeling the Winter blues? Are you ready for a vacation?
How much do you love leopard? How was everyone’s Christmas?

This Christmas

I thought it would be a good idea to put on my Christmas Eve outfit this past weekend and take some outfit photos before the rain had a chance to ruin my hair! I’m sure I won’t be able to wear my gown if there’s a down pour, but a gown is another Holiday look I totally approve.

As a Latina it’s always been a tradition to celebrate Christmas Eve (otherwise known as ‘Noche Buena‘) much more than Christmas Day. Christmas Day for us is hangover leftover day, which to many is still a celebration. One of my many aunts invited us to her annual Christmas Eve gathering. It’s been a while since we’ve been there, so this year I’m hoping like every other year: to have a good time with family I often don’t get to spend time with. During this time of year, I love all the Christmas songs that are played in the stores and on my iPhone. That’s right I download Christmas music. Whatever makes us happy. 😉

I just had to have this dress from the Altuzarra for Target collection. Why not? You have a better chance of wearing gowns around the last two seasons of the year than any other time of the year. Gowns are easy to put on, glamorous and always make a statement, even if you’re turning heads or trying to fit your dress through a door. I altered my dress (lower v neck also known as a deep V and a higher slit to show how much I’ve been working out -Not!) for a sexier touch and I really loved how it came out in pictures. What do you think of my alterations?

Where will you be spending Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day? Most importantly, what will you be wearing?

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays! 🙂

The City Is My Playground

Sometimes you have to take deep breaths, give your mind and your feet a break! When I’m running around doing some last minute shopping or running around for the office I like to do it in comfortable, but stylish too -New Balance 750v2’s. They were a great #fabfound purchase at Marshall’s a few months back. New Balance has a newer version currently on sale for the holidays. Get your sneak on!

Thank Goodness It’s Friday! Stay warm!

Slept In Pink

Pink isn’t my favorite color, but silky shirts are a favorite of mine. The black piping makes it resemble a pajama shirt. Okay I will never think it’s a good idea to walk around. In the street. With pajamas on. No. Don’t do it! This shirt looks like something you can sleep in, but you probably shouldn’t because you’ll be ironing forever.

I paired my shirt with my BLANKNYC vegan leathers, gold pumps to match the buttons and a pink lip just because. The duster coat I can’t stop wearing (when are they going to restock in the other colors?!) topped of this “slept so good I left with my pajamas” look.

Do you have favorite leather leggings (Jeggings too)? Could this be your go to holiday look? How do you feel about those crazy kids wearing pajamas outside of their home?

Christmas is a week away! Have you done all of your Christmas shopping? Are you thinking twice about gifting pajamas this year?

Celebrate

If you’re thinking about your holiday outfits, you’ve come to the right place. This weekend I put together two outfits that might inspire that two faced (no pun intended) girl in you.

For the ultimate girly girl, a flirty romper with so many potential looks, is a great start to the holiday season. One way you can dress up this romper is by adding black tights (without is also fine, but I would go with a pump if you decide to show some skin), a standout cocktail ring and a suede black clutch to match these bad ass Zara booties. I noticed an extra emphasis on the body by wearing this romper so all body types are welcomed, feel free to add a belt to accentuate your waist. Let your hair down and party the night away!

Now if you’re not in a girly, girly mood this season, sporty and minimalistic is another way to dress for all the festivities. A football jersey inspired top that’s silky and flowy tucked into a high waist skirt, top it off with an ankle strap heel and you got yourself a simple, but charming party outfit. Pulling your hair up into a ponytail with this look keeps it cool and sophisticated. Try it!

As for me, I like to have many choices according to my mood and most importantly my personality. Stay true to yourself and your closet.

Which black and white outfit would you wear? Are you the flirty girly girl or the sporty girly girl?

Look Number Two:

Paint The Town Red

Knitwear is always a must during the winter time. The visible 3D knitting is something I look at when I buy it and most importantly it keeps you warm. I can’t have too many patterns on my knit sweaters, it has to be very simple or black and white. When fashion magazines and blogs talk about monochromatic trend, normally you think all black and that’s pretty much it. Lately that’s been my uniform, but I decided to take the road less traveled for Ugly Sweater Party weekend. I brought out my red sort of ugly, but mostly pretty sweater to the streets of New York City. I went full on red (favorite color after black, afterall) to keep the Christmas spirit alive; red heels, red nails, and red lipstick. Red is an energetic, passionate color and sometimes you have to let your outfit do the talking.

What are your favorite colors to monochrome?
Did you all wear your ugly Christmas sweaters this weekend?

Have a lovely week!
