Thankful Repeat

Sometimes you’re running around looking for a new outfit for the holidays when you suddenly remember there may be a few options in your closet that need a redo. You don’t want to spend money on another piece of clothing that you’re only going to wear once! I know it may be boring to repeat a dress or shoes or both, but if Kate Middleton can do it and style it the same way every single time, you can too. -but better. Here I took 4 pieces I have worn in the past (1, 2, 3, and 4) and brought them together to give you Thanksgiving Day love.

How is everyone celebrating the holidays this year?

It was time to bring out another one of my Altuzarra for Target pieces. The week is almost over, but let’s throw it back to Monday. Yes, it’s the worst day of the work week for many (especially for me), so I chose to start off on a good fashion note. You know, happy. There’s something about being dressed up in all black that makes me feel confident, sexy and yes, happy. Although it being a dark color, I don’t see it that way. And you shouldn’t either. Don’t worry, be happy. It sure won’t be the last time you see me in this sweater, just look at those cranes! Even if you don’t have the broadest shoulders in the pact, wearing a top with shoulder detail can make anyone want to do the ‘shoulder lean, shoulder lean.” Here I paired the beautiful gold birds with a black faux leather skirt and black strappy sandals, the perfect debut. I kept my hair sleek with a middle part, for an overall ‘put together’ look.

Speaking of happy, tomorrow’s Friday! 🙂

How are you rockin’ your Altuzarra for Target pieces lately?

Cozy Up

This past Sunday it felt like an official Fall day. Temperatures were very brisk, but romantic enough to take a walk in the park. Perfect for football too. Go Giants!

I brought out one of my few knit sweaters for the “cold” weather; they can really keep you warm, but in my case -hot! I can only wear them if I know I’ll be outside the whole time. I don’t recommend any indoor knitwear. The skirt is one of those pieces of clothing in your closet you’ve never worn, has actually made it to your give away pile, but ends back in your closet like “one day, one day I know I’ll wear it.” And that day was Sunday. My Mulberry for Target bag hasn’t seen the outside world since I got her back in 2010. I really need to show more love to my prized possessions. Can’t forget the boots now, they too have a story. They weren’t supposed to be part of my Altuzarra for Target shopping spree, but after I had seen how sexy they looked on another fellow collaboration obsessed, I decided to give them a try. What do you think? Good purchase?

What are your cold weather essentials?

Are you ready for boot season?

“I like my money right where I can see it: hanging in my closet.” — Carrie Bradshaw

It’s been five days sine the launch of the Altuzarra For Target Collection. Finally! The wait is over!

After an hour and a half on line, a manager at the 225th street/Riverdale location where we were waiting, came out and told me, my team and the rest of the line that it was not going to be sold there! I freaked out, even dropping the F bomb on her: “Are you f***ing kidding me?” Manager: “No.” As if this didn’t mean anything to her. As if making this month’s sales goal in one day meant nothing to her. We ran out of there so fast. I just couldn’t waste any more time on her, her story and her lack of fashion sense. It was time to put our heads together and find Targets within our reach. We got in our getaway car and drove to the Bronx Terminal market where there wasn’t really much of the collection nor was there any excitement whatsoever. I was in a panic because my number one reason in running around like a crazy person was to get my hands on the maxi dress that I plan to wear to my friend’s wedding. Huddle time! Next stop? Harlem! I didn’t even remember getting there, I just remember we didn’t make a line and I found myself bumping into fashionistas with a load of clothes across their arms, in carts, with friends! After a few grabs here and there, my next strategy was to follow people and the items they had that I wanted, I needed. After negotiating with a fellow shopper who had all the sizes of the Orchid Maxi dress (her sister chose my dress for her bridesmaids, the nerve!), she tried on the dress and before I knew it, I walked out of Target with a big smile on my face. Did I mention I also purchased everything online first? A girl’s got to be able to secure her wardrobe. Wink, wink.

Above are all the looks currently in my closet. I can’t wait to style and share them with all of you.

Did you make the line at Target this past weekend? Are you happy with all your purchases?

Have a beautiful weekend! ❤

Altuzarra For Target -Heaven Sent!

Okay now that I’ve had some time to let sink in, I can finally share my favorites from the lookbook I’ve been looking forward to ever since the announcement back in May.  A lot of people may not understand why I go crazy for high end designers and their budget friendly collaborations. As much as I like to budget everything I wear, I still keep in mind the beautiful runway clothes and the designers that make it all worth while. The runway is a great way to inspire everyday style and spot the latest trends on the rise. Altuzarra is one I have come familiar with through the likes of Kim Kardashian, Lupita Nyong’o, and Rihanna. These women wear outfits that make me think:  “I love it! Where can I get a cheaper version of that?!” I’m always interested in knowing what designers they are wearing and incorporate that in my wardrobe and my style.  Altuzarra brings out a woman’s sexy and seductive side, but with sophistication. This collaboration has a 70’s vibe which I look forward to exploring and making it my own.  Jospeh Altuzarra, received the 2014 CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Womenswear Designer of the Year Award -and because of this is someone I’d consider wearing.  A male designer who knows so much about how to dress a woman and you can really see that through his work.

The high slits, body hugging dresses, fur, and lace makes you want to have everything from this collaboration. This lookbook is dark, vampy and mysterious -perfect for Fall. Below are the looks I will fight for. Yes that’s right, I’m out for blood, lol.

Will I see you on the checkout line on September 14th?

Which look below is your favorite? Check out more looks from Altuzarra for Target via Refinery 29.
