No Stars, Just Stripes

As many of you know I’ve been in “blog post hiding” for the past couple of months, but a girl’s got to recharge her batteries once in a while. On Instagram, I was throwing back outfit photos because I live for a great theme/series. It was also a way to remind myself that I love dressing up and share it with all of my followers. During this time I was focused on my health, moving, moving on and peace within me. I’ve made some progress in all these things. At 33, losing weight is a struggle mainly because of so many distractions, but I’ve managed to stay on the right path and it starting to show. I’ve moved 4 times as an adult and boy is it a never ending chore. I got rid of so much clutter because starting out fresh was my ultimate goal. I want to invite my followers into my new home through social media once in a while. Connecting with others is something I’ve always wanted to do as a blogger. My home is where I feel the most comfortable and if I can express myself openly in that type of environment then I can build that same confidence, be totally honest and become more personal when I’m blogging.

Moving on, well it’s been a long time coming. I look forward to new beginnings and to live happily ever after. Sharing some of my personal issues on my blog along with telling you about what I’m wearing makes me feel complete.

The beginning of Summer can be very tricky when deciding what to wear. For some strange reason on the second day of Summer (my birthday) the weather went from cool to hot to cool to rain. I didn’t let the weather ruin my mood so, I still showed up to MY day. I wore a bodysuit underneath and a longline blazer over just in case a breeze or two came through. The color black solves almost all my problems. It did start to rain, but it didn’t show on my clothes, so we were able to continue shooting my outfit. I wore my favorite black jeans and a pair of leopard booties I’ve had forever. If I can still fix them up 5 years from now, you better believe they will stick around. Now if they fall apart, of course they’ll have to go. I like to find replacements almost identical before I let something go. That only goes for materialistic things, you get me? 😉

I was able to get a blow out (my hair is naturally curly, but I’m sure you already know that) and keep it that way for a few days before the humidity forced another wash. The cuff is an oldie, but always a goodie in the jewelry department. It always makes me feel like I have some sort of super power. That, and the bag brightened up the all around matte look.

Summer’s finally here and I’m already drenched.

What is your favorite trend of this sweaty season?

Have a lovely Fourth of July!

-Sai

Over It

For brunch last weekend, I wanted to channel my inner sex kitten. So for me that’s a turtleneck bodysuit, high waist flare jeans and my never letting go leopard booties. The first day of Spring reminded me a whole lot of Winter, a high of 32 degrees. Which means, I couldn’t leave the house without my faux fur!

When I wear flares, I like my shoes to peek out just a little bit, that’s why I went with an average high heel for me -about 3 – 3 1/2 inches instead of my usual 4-5 inches. As a short girl, I can have a short girl complex so I like to wear heels as often as my feet desire. The bodysuit trend is alive and well into Spring and it’s really taking over my brain and closet, especially when there is high waist involved. I can’t get enough!

How do you accentuate your figure? What Spring trends are you most excited about?

Happy Weekend!

Welcoming Fall with leaves on my shirt, where nature and fashion became one…

Leather weather is also here and I’m bringing it back to a favorite budget find of mine, this flirty Joie skirt I found at Crossroads Trading!

What inspires you this time of year?

Bah-bye September!

Goldilocks

From Tulum to the streets of New York City, this time around as a blonde! I can’t wait to pair both my new hair and this denim dress with a turtleneck and knee high boots for the complete 70’s style inspiration. It’s still super hot over here so lace up sandals and a bold lip will do the trick for now. Hope you guys are enjoying walking the yellow brick road with me as I get closer to my blonde -ish hair goal!

How do you like the hair transition so far? Are you ready for Fall trends and cooler weather?

Denim x Denim x Denim

I went full on Britney and Justin today! I took denim on denim to the 3rd power indeed with this Dana Buchman denim tote.  Love that the bag is leopard inside just like my booties! Not sure if it was all the blue that had people turning heads or my ‘crazy hair I don’t care’ moment to top off the 90’s look.

Do you dig the curly redhead locks?

How do you think I pulled off the denim on denim on denim look?

Little Metal Corset

Denim on denim (uniform on repeat) to start the Holiday weekend. This time I added a vintage chain belt for a playful outfit of the day.

Who else is is looking forward to less work, more play this Summer? 🙂

What do you think of my added accessory to the denim on denim uniform?

Happy 4th of July Weekend! ❤

Fine Wine

Nothing like fine wine to end the week right.

This color is very close to Pantone‘s color of the year. I love red so I was happy to find out that Marsala (earthy wine red) was this year’s go to hue. Burgundy in Spring? Yes, please.

What do you think about the color of the year? Will you rock it?

Have a lovely weekend!
