Stripes and White Denim

…and lots of chains in this look. I pulled my hair back, tied up my shirt and was ready for this week’s heat wave alongside my vintage Gucci bag; a shopper makes it so much easier to carry around your personal belongings. You can do like Fabolous does, and just throw it in the bag!

How are you all handling the heat in the N Y C? Do you keep cool in denim like I do?

Into The Woods

I spent Memorial Day enjoying the beautiful weather with a hike in the park, all while watching the military planes fly by. We get so caught up in our daily routines we forget to remember those men and women who served in our country’s Armed Forces, some of which live near by in my neighborhood. Later in the day, I dressed up for dinner plans in a vintage Gianfranco Ferre top (representing the red, white and blue), a pencil skirt and some bondage on my feet to match the crisscross action happening in the back of my top.

How was everyone’s Memorial Day weekend? Are you ladies sporting your Summer crop tops?

CHANEL-O!

This past weekend I popped into the Chanel Exhibit, N°5 In A New Light on 14th street, by the famous High Line of New York City. Chanel’s N°5 fragrance was built through layers of creation, cultivation, composition, abstraction and revelation.  With science and in art, visitors and Chanel fans like myself got to see every one of those layers. Here are some of the photos I’d like to share with you and what I wore (on a Sunday)!

How is everyone’s week coming along? Any Memorial Day weekend plans?

Mod-ri Gras

It’s been a week since Fat Tuesday, but finally here is my Mardi Gras look. Instead of decorating the office with hearts all over for Valentine’s Day I went a tad bit more festive this year with purple, green and gold. There is something about decorating that boosts up my mood instantly. Mardi Gras is not just for party animals, but a way to celebrate life and enjoy it with other people. What holiday isn’t about celebrating life really? This Winter, oh you Winter -has not been an easy one, but I put all that aside and went with a purple mini which for me isn’t so mini (remember I’m 5 feet and a little something), a new turtleneck to add to the family, and some knee high boots for a complete mod look. Can’t forget the beautiful masks we played around with that were provided by my lovely co-worker.

How do you all think I pulled off the masked mod look?

Not Looking Back

A quick look at some of my January 2015 Instagram posts. Started off going to the gym, enjoying the City’s brisks nights, some hot oatmeal, through the snow, rain, all while decorating my home with flowers every week. Then there was more snow which meant some time to myself at home, but also enjoying those family get togethers at the beginning of the year. Winter really is a hibernating season and you can’t help but to feel bummed out. One thing that helps me put on a happy face is cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning. There is always something to do, but not until now did I realize that it’s a hobby that is very therapeutic for me and keeps me sane! Especially in the cold! Summer I miss you, come back already.

How was everyone’s first month of 2015?

So much coming up in February!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!

Winter Wonderland

What a beautiful snow day to go hiking with my family. After all the Blizzard hype, I’m grateful it wasn’t more than the mere 6 inches – enough to have a day off and enjoy the snow. As much as I’m not a fan of the snow or anything with the word storm in it, I appreciate the beauty of it while it’s falling and the 24 hours it’s on the ground. It’s calming and therapeutic for me. Aside from relaxing at home, I went out to play, like the big kid I am. 🙂

I threw on my (faux) furry vest over a turtleneck and some distressed skinny jeans. I also wore my sombrero for a monochromatic look and a pair of track sole booties to be able to walk and keep warm for the 30 minute hike (okay I changed into some flat cold weather boots so I wouldn’t break my neck in the process) in the park. A small bag to store my keys, phone, and tissues; and last but never the least in this weather, my leather gloves to keep me extra warm.

How did you spend your snow day (if you had one)?
What do you think of my (faux) fur outfits lately?

Stay warm!

Lumberjack

Black to plaid…this has to be one of my favorite flannel button downs for Winter. I’ve had it for years and I wear it with everything; jeans, skirts even tied around my waist all through Winter. Although it isn’t Winter just yet, the weather has been brutal and if you’re not wearing anything to warm you up at the moment, I don’t know what you’re thinking! It’s time to throw on your cold weather gear!

How are you handling early Winter temperatures?
What do you think of the plaid trend?
