Scarf Face

When I got my hands on this vintage YSL scarf, it was all the convincing I needed to jump on the bandwagon. Next time I’ll be sure to wear it as a cuff, a headband, and maybe even decorate my favorite handbag.

What trends are you Falling into this season?

In A Grey Area

Although I only have two shades of grey in this outfit, I see myself and many other fashionistas wearing grey much more this cold, freeezing Winter. Could it be just a trend or is this weather bringing out the gloom in all of us? Hey I’m not complaining, I love how versatile grey is, can be paired with almost any color. Right now I like to pair it with other neutrals, like tan and brown like I did here. In the Summer don’t forget to give your greys a taste of the bright side, next to white or neon.
Are you giving black a break and heading over to the grey area?
I hear rain and snow are on its way to the Northeast. Stay warm and be safe everyone!
Happy Weekend!

Get On Your Boots

The sexiest shoe after a sleek pump has to be the over the knee almost thigh high boots. My favorite piece to wear with these boots have to be sweater dresses, skirts or anything that’s going to show a little leg. I made sure to also pair them with a knee length coat that was going to give the illusion of “coat and boots and not much else” when I walked down the street. I brought out my chain choker to balance out the loose sweater dress. This sweater dress which I purchased at Francesca’s soften up the look just enough for dinner and drinks, not the club. Francesca’s boutique store has a variety of clothing for the trendy City girl.

Do you wear thigh high boots? If so, how do you like to wear them?

Just Because

My parents just moved to an apartment in Midtown Manhattan. My mom is super excited to be back in our old neighborhood, next to my elementary school, close to my aunt’s house, and everything else Hell’s Kitchen has to offer. I especially can’t wait to visit the holiday window displays at fifth avenue. I arrived to this year’s Thanksgiving early with my sister, but my mom had already started the cooking. While waiting for the turkey, my photographer and I decided to take some outfit pics in the park across the street.

Cold weather can make you not want to set foot outside, but I finally got to wear this jumpsuit I had planned to wear earlier in the Fall. I’m loving jumpsuits right now. If you do too, make sure you adjust, every so often. I pulled up my pants so that the lace up shoes can show, and unbuttoned one button. I wanted to showoff my waist for an overall balance. I braved the temperatures in lace up sandals and no coat! It’s been 3 days since the shoot and thank goodness I feel fine! I planned my manicure color first and worked the outfit around it. It was a color I knew I had to wear now before all the usual reds and golds for December holiday madness.

This has to be one of the best shoots in a long time. The creativity, setting and shots were all done by my photographer, @zamansam (Instagram).

Will you be wearing jumpsuits this Winter?
How was everyone’s Thanksgiving?

Please Don’t Stop My Music

There something about the cool breeze this time of the year that makes me want to wear more and more skirts. Sometimes in the summer it’s just too hot to have your legs locked up in a skirt with all that heat! I know a lot of ladies feel me on this one. Every morning on my way to work I notice a handful of women around me that are feeling free, brave enough to bare leg. A little chill never hurt no-body. Refreshing, actually. 🙂

Below I’m wearing Dolce and Gabbanna 3 buttons shirt/tunic (the right amount of cleavage and long enough to keep over my skirt for a form fitting look), Love 21 grey skirt, grey pumps and a vintage Banana Republic clutch for some color and pattern.

How is everyone’s Monday coming along?

Black Out

Mourning the early dismissal of summer in all black. That time in between seasons is always questionable for me especially with Fall. Do you tone down your colors or do you ride out that neon until September 21st? When you’re walking into Fall weather and you’re just too lazy to pair your summer tones with the upcoming season’s color palette, just count on black to stay on trend. Now I don’t mean do this all the time or give up completely. In a bodysuit and jeans you can still look put together without trying too hard while you’re still trying to figure out your Fall wardrobe. Add a simple, but sleek pump and a blazer for a polished look. I prefer deep v neck bodysuits and this one from American Apparel has a thong back which I prefer…no panty lines!

How was everyone’s Labor Day weekend? Are you ready for Fall?
