V Day, Me Day

I wouldn’t say I’m a huge fan of Valentine’s Day, but yes I am (Drita voice). I love all the red and pink hearts and all that other visible mushy-ness that comes with Valentine’s Day. It’s not only about a significant other, it’s a day to spread love to all those that deserve to be loved. Most importantly? Yourself. Love is a happy feeling and a way I feel happy is by putting on my best or not (lol). This was the perfect dress for dinner plans after work. Totally appropriate and playful with a pair of heart socks and Mary Janes. Still Sunny outside? Don’t forget to add a pair of fun heart sunglasses.

What are your Valentine’s Day plans?

Do you dress up for the occasion?

Have a fun-filled long weekend!

How To Think Pink In Your 30s

It’s been 2 weeks since the celebration of National Pink Day. There’s nothing wrong with being in the spirit of any National (insert here) Day. I love holidays/national days because it brings people together in a fun lighthearted way.

This little pink number was pretty easy to choose until I realized I didn’t have much to work with. I had no choice but to throw it back since I didn’t have the time to go shopping for something new. I’m trying to update and reinvent what’s already in my closet instead of resorting to making a new purchase.

So even though I’ve been working out lately, I was still hesitant about the crop top. The only way to hide the extra goods was with a high waist something. a light satin color blazer -to prevent from overpowering the pink and long enough for a leaner illusion. It felt or looked more like Spring all over again once I added flower-ful clutch.

What color do you feel the most “girly” in? What’s the guilty pleasure in your closet?

Check out my eBay: budgetsaiyou. Add more to your closet, from my closet!

Happy Shopping, Happy Weekend!

The Warm Up

Although we are not experiencing normal temperatures here on the east coast and global warming is at the back of our minds, I know I’m not the only one feeling a bit relieved that the brick ass weather hasn’t arrived yet. Until Winter starts to feel like itself again, it’s slits and leather jackets for the win!

I’m a big leopard lover in small doses, but this time around I went with a flow-y m-slit maxi dress. I had this outfit in mind for the Fall and though technically Fall ended just yesterday, there never seemed to be a right. I added a leather jacket and booties as oppose to the real warmer look here. Sometimes those Summer dresses come in handy on weird weather days. I kept my makeup minimal during the day and then put on red lipstick for nighttime. Red + leopard = classic.

Has your Christmas outfit ideas changed due to the warmer temperatures?

Is everyone done with their Christmas shopping?

Thankful Repeat

Sometimes you’re running around looking for a new outfit for the holidays when you suddenly remember there may be a few options in your closet that need a redo. You don’t want to spend money on another piece of clothing that you’re only going to wear once! I know it may be boring to repeat a dress or shoes or both, but if Kate Middleton can do it and style it the same way every single time, you can too. -but better. Here I took 4 pieces I have worn in the past (1, 2, 3, and 4) and brought them together to give you Thanksgiving Day love.

How is everyone celebrating the holidays this year?

Mod-ri Gras

It’s been a week since Fat Tuesday, but finally here is my Mardi Gras look. Instead of decorating the office with hearts all over for Valentine’s Day I went a tad bit more festive this year with purple, green and gold. There is something about decorating that boosts up my mood instantly. Mardi Gras is not just for party animals, but a way to celebrate life and enjoy it with other people. What holiday isn’t about celebrating life really? This Winter, oh you Winter -has not been an easy one, but I put all that aside and went with a purple mini which for me isn’t so mini (remember I’m 5 feet and a little something), a new turtleneck to add to the family, and some knee high boots for a complete mod look. Can’t forget the beautiful masks we played around with that were provided by my lovely co-worker.

How do you all think I pulled off the masked mod look?

2015 Is Here!

Happy New Year everyone! I can’t believe it’s Twenty Fifteen, I mean so much has happened in a year. I started a blog, something I never knew I could feel so passionate about, it’s my last year in my twenties (time really flies) and I finally have my own place! Of course there are so many changes that still need to be made to mold me into the person I strive to be, but I’ve learned that’s it’s never too late. It doesn’t matter what year it is really, you have to always have some sort of goal, big or small to keep you moving in life. My main goal besides the usual: get fit, be more social, and sleep less (I’ve been told I take sleep seriously), is to do what makes me happy. It will always be my goal, a year from now even 10 years from now.

Have you set up your 2015 goals/resolutions?

New Year’s Eve calls for sparkle, shine and a ton of sequins! Every year my sister celebrates her twins birthday (January 1st) so I plan out what we should all wear, even my mom gets into the spirit. Love it! This year I chose sequins because normally we go with all black, but I’m trying to stray away from that on special events (as much as I can), as it is a daily wardrobe for me. This year I chose a sequin maxi skirt that I found at Marshalls for $40 bucks! I already had some tops in mind and accessories so having to only buy one thing was a total miracle for such a big night. I was torn between a white button down and the black deep V surplice top. After many try ons, I went with the black top. It is my choice of color 95% of the time and of course I was afraid to dirty my white shirt! I was able to overload on accessories because it was New Years. The louder the accessories, the more appropriate. Am I right or am I right? So I borrowed my sister’s earrings and matched it with all the gunmetal rings I could find in my jewelry box. I went with my Stecy black patent sandals because they were just the right height for the not so long maxi skirt. I kept the gunmetal look going with a metallic silver color on my nails from Dior.

How do you all think I did this New Year’s Eve?

What were your New Year’s Eve plans? And what out of this world outfit did you wear to ring in the New Year?

Fresh End To A Fresh Start

Last week I went out on my lunch break for some retail therapy. After Christmas, the deals are phenomenal, especially at Joe Fresh. I racked up on some much needed essentials, like this dolman tee. Basics can always be mixed in with the next set of trends, sometimes you’ll buy something now and still wear it for seasons to come.
I love a slouchy top, boyfriend jeans (also from Joe Fresh) and pumps on a casual running around kind of day. Yes, I run in heels!
What trends do you look forward to in 2015?
Roomy denim? Military greens? Shirtdresses? Or maybe you’re as excited as I am to try All White Everything?
Have a Happy and Safe New Year! See you all in Twenty Fifteen!
xoxo, Budget$ai
