Getting Witchy With It

If you’re not into Halloween and there’s no way you’re getting into a costume, but are dragged to the parade or a party, don’t panic. Right in your closet there’s a costume waiting to be created. It doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. Let your mind wander and think of what you’d like to become. A witch? Take out all your black clothing (I know some of us have more than enough) and start picking your favorite from the bunch, then decide whether you want to be the sexy or classic witch. Halloween gives women the opportunity to play out their fantasies for the whole world to see. Please, spare us a little ladies. If it’s a chilly night and you can’t brave the cold, do as I did; wear a turtleneck tucked into a pencil skirt, tights and some pointed boots like these Altuzarra for Target ones I snagged from the collection to give off a witchy vibe. Tights are the perfect way to stay warm with any costume. The colors are endless too. The finishing touches to your witch costume should be easy, the hat, nose and some evil green face paint! Now if you’re a Halloween fan like I am, getting your makeup done by a professional (at the MAC Soho store) can make you look like this :

That’s me last year as a Harlequin. 🙂 As much as I like to keep things under a budget, I go all out on Halloween and I’m that person who drags everyone into it too!

What are you dressing up as this Halloween?

One, Two, Three

Go USA! I wore a striped Henley dress with red pumps to show my support for the team. I’m not big soccer fan, but I love it when we can all come together for world sports events. Horizontal stripes are tricky and can only be pulled off if balanced correctly. Here I chose a midi dress because it was long enough to make me look long enough. You always want to look leaner, for a more flattering effect. If you want to add the cherry on top, pair your horizontal stripes with a sleek high heel for instant height!

What do you prefer? Vertical or horizontal stripes?

Have a great weekend!

Meet Your Match

As the summer moves along, you can’t help but to bring out the little bit of color you’ve already built up. Always choose a neon hue that compliments your skin tone; mine is hot pink or fuchsia.Today I double dosed on neon pairing the blazer with my Prabal Gurung for Target pumps for a top and bottom spark. Adding denim is one way to balance out the two colors without overwhelming or clashing the outfit. Adding a grey bodysuit like I did here is another way you can tone down the colors even more. If you want to wear a white or black top, stick to one neon color. I wear little or no jewelry when I’m in a highlighting mood, but feel free to accessorize as you wish.

How do you experiment with neon?
