Go Shorty

…it’s my birthday (week)! Thank you all so much for the birthday shout outs. I’m really looking forward to my 30’s!

I represented my day in a number 22 jersey (my birthday is June 22nd), a pair of short shorts, killer heels, red lips and red hair!

Weekend is around the corner!

Tulum: Day 2/Night 2

Day 2 in Tulum meant to start working on a tan in none other than a little black bikini. I added a fun statement necklace and lots of arm candy to brighten up my beach bum look!

For the night out I let my clutch do all the talking with its beautifully sewed in sequins and abstract print.

Happy Friday!

Sunday Chill

Sunday was such a chilly day, all I wanted to do was stay indoors, under the covers binging on SVU marathons. Instead I got dressed and went out for a walk around the park. It was probably the best decision I made all day. Sometimes a breeze or two is necessary to recollect your thoughts to prepare yourself for the Manic Mondays and the week ahead.
This is the kind of weather to layer up in your most cozy pieces. To keep me from getting frost bit, (okay fine it wasn’t that cold) I added my favorite (and in great condition) open front cardigan to my thick knitted turtleneck. Anything in my closet that is black, grey, or white is a favorite of mine. A bonus when it has all three colors! Back in the day, I experimented a lot with fashion (my parents couldn’t buy me and my 3 sisters a whole new wardrobe every season) so to me, all my clothes were for the 365 days of the year. One look that never got old for me is wearing denim cut offs with tights and boots, booties and sometimes even chunky heel shoes. Here I chose to go with a flat over the knee boot for a comfortable stroll.

If you’re in New York, are you looking forward to the 70 degree weather we’re having today? I might be overdressed, but we’ll get to that later in the week.

Do you dare to bring your cut offs from Summer to Fall?

Razzle Dazzle ‘Em

I had a great time at the show Sunday afternoon, it was everything I expected it to be and some! Amazing! Go see it now!

In my previous post about prepping for the musical, I mentioned the outfit I had put together for this day; fringe top (flapper inspired), black coated jeans and my black patent Steve Madden high heeled sandals. Black is very slimming and elongates when paired with more and more black, but  I particularly liked the way the fringe detail stood out up against the coated denim, the same way the coated denim stood out up against the patent heels. All the black didn’t get lost because of all the bold textures, and all that jazz!

Will you be trying the fringe trend this Fall?

Happy Monday Number 2!

Big Red

I wear the color red all throughout the year. It’s a color that never goes out of style and everyone should have in their closet. In the summer I love to pair it with white, nude and more red. This look wouldn’t have felt the same without the matching red lipstick; playful, sexy and most importantly confidence. No look stands tall without confidence. Go out there and add red to your wardrobe if that’s what it takes to feel good.

How do you do red in the summer? What’s your favorite color year round?

TGIF! Have a beautiful weekend!

No Rain, No Problem

Yesterday’s choice of attire was based on the rain. The rain that never happened. You see I’m one of those people who fear even 30% chances of rain. I fear being drenched while wearing light colored clothing. Nevertheless black is always welcome in my wardrobe. Here I am in my favorite black blazer, a cami and coated skinny jeans. To soften up the look after realizing the sun would stay out, I added my Cavalcanti floral printed clutch and nude pumps that I still had with me from this weekend.

Happy Hump Day!

Tough Love

It was love at first sight. I’ve been wanting a leather jacket for years now. Leather jackets are an investment piece, so I knew when I came across price tags over $500 that it was going to become a mission to find one within my budget. This H&M one is everything I can ask for in a leather jacket: the carefully crafted detailing of the zippers, the quilting , the comfortable fit of the jacket matches its remarkable quality, and let’s not forget the best part of all, the price; a real leather jacket for $199! (You can find more leather from H&M’s premium quality products on their website).

There is something about wearing a leather jacket that suddenly oozes out a bad girl attitude. On top of feeling tough and edgy, it’s also very versatile, you can wear a leather jacket the way I do here with jeans and a t-shirt but also over any girly outfit to tone down a feminine statement. Either way a leather jacket is a timeless piece that is worth the investment.
What is your investment piece?
