A Sai of Hoodie

Sometimes we see loungewear as just that, lounge-wearBUT -don’t you ever feel like you want to feel comfortable in something comfortably sexy too?

So for this laid back look, I cut up my leggings into capris -I just felt like the color needed to be cut down a bit and a little bare leg never hurt anybody. My men sized hoodie was long enough to cover the booty, the longer the better ladies (and gentlemen)! You can even get them as big and long as you want to wear as a dress with over the knee boots – SEX-Y! Speaking of sexy, the heels were the perfect compliment to the hoodie’s side silver zipper (so sorry there’s no close up, I promise there will be a next time).

Sexy (there’s that word again) and comfy is my mood as of late, will you join me?

How’s your hoodie collection stacking up?

Love, BudgetSai

Boss Lady

Hell yeah. When you go for a cropped leather instead of a boring old blazer, that’s boss. Don’t get me wrong I love blazers, but not dated 80’s style blazers (sorry) .This is the time to play around with semi-light outerwear. Hoodies, leather jackets, longline cardigans, ponchos -anything but a heavy coat! (Insert crying face). Although in the Northeast it gets cold quicker than you know it, you can definitely pull off the light with the heavy (working on that post as we speak) if need be.

First I did go for the perfect secretary ensemble, then I was like well I’m not going to finish this off, I’m going to change it up. So I already told you about my bad ass bomb boss leather (throw some Bs on that ootd = outfit of the day), then there’s the shoes -should I or should not? I have to tell you, this is a love story baby. I love my lace up heels and that’s who I chose to be with for the look of the day. If the weather permitted I’d be in lace up heels all year round. I love the way they climb up your feet.  It never fails to make me feel sexy.

The bodysuit needs no explanation other than the high neck kept it edgier and less cookie cutter with a basic pencil skirt (one you can do anything with -trust me). To top off the look, my shades in case a ray of sunshine throughout the day. I’m looking forward to the cooler weather as long as I can work with it!

Do you have business attire days? Do you pull it off rough around the edges? Or are you a cookie cutter guy or gal with basic on your mind? Whatever floats your boat -go with that. 😉

Halloween is getting closer and I’m still indecisive about a costume. (Insert a double crying face!)

Birthday Wishes

It’s been a little bit over a week since I turned 31. I have to say, I don’t feel it and people say I don’t look it. It doesn’t really matter what year you are in your life, as long as you’re happy and healthy. That’s what matters. Without happiness, you’re stressed, and stress can bring you a world of complications. So, if you’re turning a year older, give thanks and put a smile on your face. Your heart, body and soul will thank you.

Speaking of soul, seems like an angel bit me in the ass and said “wear white on your special day”. I bought this sexy LWD 2, maybe even 3 years ago! And today I finally wore it! Sometimes when you have an event, the best buy is at the last minute. You don’t want to get stuck with an item you can’t wear on a regular basis, end up selling or giving it away because you think you’ll never wear it!

Today I’ve changed that way of thinking, although I did almost sell it -I just couldn’t resist the sexiness so I needed up holding onto it as long as I could! I added minimal nude sandals -you want all the attention to be on your white piece suit. The earrings were also part of the plan 2 years ago, and they also didn’t make it until now. Normally I would have thrown on some studs, but it was my birthday and my gut told me to go over the top!

Do you like to dress up for your birthday? Or are you a low key kind of gal?

Happy Long Weekend!

Fringe With Benefits

As you all know I love black. Black is reliable, it’s comfortable, it’s me. However at the moment I’m having a love affair with fringe.

It’s always a good sign when you go back to items in your closet. It means 1. You’re saving money and 2. You got yourself a stylish piece that you will wear more than once! I paired it with a vintage top. A good vintage transcends decades and seasons. I think it gives the skirt a softer look, don’t you think?

Finished off with shoes that matched and a blazer because well… It’s not Summer yet!

Fringe is everywhere. Not a trend I would have thought to ever wear, but it’s looking like I like mine below the belt. 😉

What fringe pieces are you into this season? Here are some of my favorite fringe looks for less:

Fringe Faux Suede Scarf, $11

Fringe Leather High Heel Shoes, $100

Fringe Belt, $30

Leather Bochoa Fringe Shoulder Bag, $80

Outfit details below! Happy Friday and Happy Weekend!

Storm King

In the middle of a crazy week, sometimes you need a B R E A K. Even the smallest getaways can become a great escape from that pile of work that just never seems to disappear. At Storm King, an outdoor art exhibition in New Windsor, New York about an hour from the City, I discovered a taste of art and nature I never knew I needed. A breath of fresh air to help cope with city polluted thoughts that can drag you down in your everyday life. It was the most relaxed and calm I have felt in a while.

I paired my zen outlook with a messy air dried bun, comfortable jeans, a white tee and Converse sneakers. The cardigan or what I like to call a coatigan was the thrift shop finishing touch: the vibrant colors reminded me so much of the Fall and it was warm enough to throw on and go. The fringe was on- trend and gave an added playfulness to the outfit.

I enjoyed my day trip to the Storm King Art Center. I highly recommend it if you love art, nature, and maybe even a hike if you’re feeling adventurous!

What are some of your favorite getaways?
