A day off (it’s never really a day off) is great and with good weather like a few days ago is even better. Sometimes it’s nice to wake up and not have to rush anywhere, but your closet. Here I’m wearing a cropped long sleeve top, a skirt that can work for everyday and the office (the slit zips up for maximum coverage) too. I always feel a breath of fresh air when I bring out these patent beauties. They are just so sophisticated. I find myself pairing them with this Kirna Zabete for Target bag for an overall feminine look. It’s never a bad thing to toughen it up in a leather jacket and sunnies. Cool vibes all around. 😉
How did you spend the last days of Fall weather? Will you still be wearing the crop top trend this winter?
Denim on denim is still a trend we see season after season. It truly is here to stay, at least in my wardrobe it is! Another closet staple that women all over the world should have is a classic nude pump. I can’t stress this enough, I see myself constantly and I mean constantly going back to these gems.
Wearing your favorite pair of shoes or jeans doesn’t have to be boring; instead of a “matching” button down I could have worn a white tee and a blazer (if minimal is what your aiming for) or add a statement necklace and maybe even a belt around your blazer for a nod to Olivia Palermo. Don’t be ashamed of wearing out your faves, after all they’re yours right? With the holidays around the corner, gifting others might be your focus so your wish list is put on hold. When the holidays are over I’ll make sure to get these in leather and suede because I love them so much. Who’s with me on this one?
Go USA! I wore a striped Henley dress with red pumps to show my support for the team. I’m not big soccer fan, but I love it when we can all come together for world sports events. Horizontal stripes are tricky and can only be pulled off if balanced correctly. Here I chose a midi dress because it was long enough to make me look long enough. You always want to look leaner, for a more flattering effect. If you want to add the cherry on top, pair your horizontal stripes with a sleek high heel for instant height!
What do you prefer? Vertical or horizontal stripes?
A pop of color to brighten up my summer wardrobe. I usually go for black or dark hues in blazers, but this summer is all about playing with color. Sometimes just adding a bold color can change your appearance from dull to living! I’ve also been into pencil skirts a lot lately. They are perfect for the office (below) and you can pair it with a crop top and clutch for a night out. A white tank top or t-shirt should always be worn with nude undergarments for daytime appropriate attire; also tucking in your shirt gives an instant polished look. Then there’s the ankle-strap sandal, every woman should own a pair of the ‘Stecy’ sandal, these are easy to walk in and super sexy!
Below you’ll see my favorite J Brand jeans in threedifferentlooks, in my first ever throwback edition. I bought them last summer in a Soho sample sale for under $100, one of my many great investments. As you can see I love to wear them with pointy heels for an instant slimming and lengthening effect.
I promise to have some new budget outfit inspirations in a few days.
As much as I wanted to wear shorts for yesterday’s muggy weather, I couldn’t. Instead, I went for the bright red bandage skirt. Bandage clothing can feel really tight and difficult to move in, but it has it’s benefits too; it’s an automatic spanx, posture corrector all while looking sexy. I paired the skirt with a black silky cami, nude pumps and accessorize with a snake ring.
It’s amazing what thrifty treasures you can find. At my neighborhood thrift shop, I managed to find this sexy cowl neck style top. Unfortunately, it went out of business a few months ago and I haven’t found another one close to me. Ever since I was a little girl my mother always shopped at thrift stores. She says you can find anything and everything in thrift stores. She wasn’t wrong. I love a good thrift find no matter how much digging I have to do. I’ll be sure to visit some thrift stores in Brooklyn this summer, I hear there are some great ones. The grey jeans and nude pumps complimented the blue, while the snakeskin bag brought all the colors together.
