Bitter Sweet 16

It took so long for me to write the last post of the year, but I am here and ready to move forward.

2016 took me on a roller coaster ride: the lows sunk me at times where I felt stuck, the twists and turns shook me to my core, and the highs although there were a few, did not reach the heights I aspire to be.

So much so that it has reflected upon my outfits; I totally took advantage of the whole hoodie and sweatpants trend (thank you, Athleisure)

In life, there are the days you wake up and find devilish energy on your back. If you let it, it creeps its way up to the right side of your shoulder and cranks up the negative thoughts and feelings so loud that all you can do to make it through the day is grab a pair of sweatpants.
I’ve been MIA, but I have done some reflecting. I realized that if you don’t believe in yourself, no one ever will and your world and your dreams will begin to crumble right before your eyes.

From now on I’m going to turn the crumble into glitter and sprinkle my way through the fashion world one budget outfit at a time.

This outfit goes back to Christmas Eve. I took a basic velvet number -added a cape and choker. I was channeling my inner superhero. I love the new lightweight trenchcoats and cardigans, it adds effortless drama to even the most casual looks.

2017 is here, how is it going so far?

Always remember to set your own pace and not sweat the small stuff…

Love, BudgetSai

All About That Lace

…’bout that lace, warm weather!  I chose to celebrate another day of Spring weather by experimenting with my sheer lace dress. I paired it with two different statement earrings and two different pair of shoes; the pointed toe pumps adds elegance, while the fringe booties brings out the boho in me. Although lace is classic print, it is anything but boring. So don’t be afraid to mix prints, styles, and colors with your favorite lace piece, even if you start small with adding accessories to complete your look.

Mother Nature is throwing New York City a bone tomorrow, with a high of 75 degrees!!!!! Make sure to seize the day! 🙂

Which look is your favorite?

Happy Friday! Weekend is here!

2nd Look:

That 70’s Sai

I’m an 80’s baby, but why not live a little bit like my parents did in the 70’s, groooovy. For once, I thought I was in the twilight zone, I didn’t know how much I look like my mom in these photos! I’ve always been a fan of flare jeans, that’s why I still have these 2010 William Rast for Target jeans. They fit so well, it was sad to see the brand go in 2013, but that’s okay I can wear them more now that they’re back in style. My favorite trends are ones you can pull off day and night. I can wear these with a blouse or a plain white tee. I like the elongated look flares give me because I’m a petite gal. As if I needed another reason to wear heels. 🙂

Are you feeling the 70’s trend?

Remember no matter what’s trending, stay true to your style, but don’t be afraid of change.

Happy Friday and have a beautiful weekend!

Until Next Time, Tulum

I finally got to wear my little white bikini I purchased from Gilt last year. I love their everyday noon sales from jeans and shoes, to swimwear and jewelry. There’s always great deals on many known names like Vix -a line I’d like to have more of in my swimsuit drawer this Summer. I can’t forget Victoria’s Secret Swim. They also have the sexiest, most unique pieces every year. This neon one-pierce came to me last year, but not soon enough. Summer goes by so fast! Where are you heat so I can live this life again? I’m ready! Are you?!

Tulum you were so good to us, I can’t wait until our next honeymoon. This was probably the best trip I’ve ever had with him (my photographer on this trip too :). Thank you and I love you.

Where shall we head to next? What swimsuits are you getting yourselves into this Summer?

Polar Bear

What does a girl do when she’s cold? Wear a skirt of course. I brought out my summer skirt and went full on winter with it. I paired it with a turtleneck, tights, and peep toe booties. That’s right, I didn’t even bother to wear closed shoes. In my defense, I didn’t think the wind was going to tip me over like it did. These were the few photos I bravely accomplished without a coat! No wonder why I get sick!!!

Is everyone ready for the polar vortex? What do you wear during these brutal wintry days?

xoxo, Budget$ai
