In Trench We Trust

Whether you’re into a trench coat or not, it comes in handy as a dress when your laundry isn’t done. Wrap it up, tie up and don’t loosen up any of your buttons. I paired them with my Fall friendly booties and added a belt of my own, you know just in case you want to go out after laundry day.

Ladies and gentlemen, a trench coat will never go out of style and it’s never too late to add one to your wardrobe. Rain comes and goes in all seasons and we should always be prepared for it, and look good while doing so.

I purchased this H&M coat years ago because it kept everything in place. Some trenches/raincoats aren’t that forgiving. And yes some of us wear it just for a moment, but this staple serves as a great foundation for a fashion moment. You’ll be less frustrated that there is a downpour, and I’ll be sure you’ll stand out from all the rest.

What are your favorite Fall staples? How would you update a timeless look?

A Lip and A Slip Into the Weekend…

A lot of my outfits are inspired by my mood. So, when the weekend arrives, I feel free. Free to wear whatever I want, HOWEVER I want. I’ve been rockin’ gym gear all week, so after putting in work -in and out of the office, you deserve a little glamour on the weekends!

Ah, the slip dress. I don’t think i’ll ever get tired of this trend. Simple, sexy, and goes with just about anything. I’ve always been and will always be a heel gal, but for every outfit that goes with heel, there’s a sneaker back up plan. It’s the New Yorker thing to do.

I’m a plain Jane when it comes to makeup, but a burgundy lip will always be in my makeup bag and today I brought her out to play for the perfect match!

I’m still leaving my hair curly, what do you guys think of the change up?

What are you slipping into this weekend? New Yorkers how about this Summer extension? Are you feeling it?

Sheer Panel

Sorry for being MIA lately! There’s been so much going on, so many changes in my life!

So here as you can see I reached out to a new photographer, @burritomilkshake on Instagram (recommended by @zamnsam), who is pretty amazing if you ask me. I think this might be the beginning of a wonderful blogger/photographer friendship. 🙂 Zamnsam, my baby sister has moved to California. We were inseparable since the day she was born. I love her and wish her all the best on her new journey…

Speaking of all this love, my love for black never gets old. “2 in the morning my mind is on you, 4 in the morning it still hasn’t moved…” I live for these dark moments. Here I’m wearing a mesh bodysuit and satin skirt for a total glam on look. I like to keep the sporty inspired pieces feminine with a twist or should I say a braid? I started to get my hair braided for those sweaty days at the gym, but also changing up my hair is something I want to start doing again this Summer. Do you remember my redhead days? And the blonde?!

Mesh, satin, lace are sexy, light and beautiful on the body. Summer goals or nah? How are YOU getting ready?

What lightweight fabrics will you be wearing?

Shopping 101 -The Men’s Section

You know who always has the best selection of hoodies? Forever 21 -the men’s section. If you haven’t checked it out, what are you waiting for? When I’m looking for a hoodie, I’m looking for straight comfort; no frills, no fuss. I like them long and over-sized, so I do my part to support the athleisure movement by adding a pair of leggings (not this day, but most of the time) and my go-to Nike sneakers. To me, there’s something about dressing masculine that brings out your femininity more. I look cozy not bulky, you know none of that sloppy sweat pant look. Even when you’re out running errands, you don’t have to look like it. 😉 As much as I love to dress up, I know some of you are more inclined to dress casually so I wanted to show you how I do causal.

What do you think? Do you ever shop in the men’s section? What’s your go-to casual look?

Storm King

In the middle of a crazy week, sometimes you need a B R E A K. Even the smallest getaways can become a great escape from that pile of work that just never seems to disappear. At Storm King, an outdoor art exhibition in New Windsor, New York about an hour from the City, I discovered a taste of art and nature I never knew I needed. A breath of fresh air to help cope with city polluted thoughts that can drag you down in your everyday life. It was the most relaxed and calm I have felt in a while.

I paired my zen outlook with a messy air dried bun, comfortable jeans, a white tee and Converse sneakers. The cardigan or what I like to call a coatigan was the thrift shop finishing touch: the vibrant colors reminded me so much of the Fall and it was warm enough to throw on and go. The fringe was on- trend and gave an added playfulness to the outfit.

I enjoyed my day trip to the Storm King Art Center. I highly recommend it if you love art, nature, and maybe even a hike if you’re feeling adventurous!

What are some of your favorite getaways?

Denim Heaven

Denim skirts are all the rage right now: midi (pencil too), mini, distressed, buttoned, and frayed. I love them all! Many of the upcoming trends are ones we’ve seen this past season: flares, fringe, suede everything, cross-body bags, jumpsuits, leather everything and my personal favorite: leopard. Fall 2015 fashion, I’m ready for you!

Who else is excited for the Fall trends this year? Are you stocking up on denim skirts too?

Talking Body

I am so in love with bodysuits right now! There are so many different styles to choose from; from tanks, turtlenecks, to low back cuts, and strapless. This one from The Reformation is laced up and budget-friendly. 🙂 Instead of black, I chose this cocoa color to compliment my skin tone. I never realized how easy going and comfortable bodysuits are. You don’t have to worry about constantly tucking in your shirt! The job’s done for you, lol. Today’s look was completed with a pencil skirt and knee high boots.

Will you be wearing bodysuits this ‘Summer is officially here’ weekend?

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

xoxo, BudgetSai
