Getting Witchy With It

If you’re not into Halloween and there’s no way you’re getting into a costume, but are dragged to the parade or a party, don’t panic. Right in your closet there’s a costume waiting to be created. It doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. Let your mind wander and think of what you’d like to become. A witch? Take out all your black clothing (I know some of us have more than enough) and start picking your favorite from the bunch, then decide whether you want to be the sexy or classic witch. Halloween gives women the opportunity to play out their fantasies for the whole world to see. Please, spare us a little ladies. If it’s a chilly night and you can’t brave the cold, do as I did; wear a turtleneck tucked into a pencil skirt, tights and some pointed boots like these Altuzarra for Target ones I snagged from the collection to give off a witchy vibe. Tights are the perfect way to stay warm with any costume. The colors are endless too. The finishing touches to your witch costume should be easy, the hat, nose and some evil green face paint! Now if you’re a Halloween fan like I am, getting your makeup done by a professional (at the MAC Soho store) can make you look like this :

That’s me last year as a Harlequin. 🙂 As much as I like to keep things under a budget, I go all out on Halloween and I’m that person who drags everyone into it too!

What are you dressing up as this Halloween?

Not Your Average Slit

I’ve always been a fan of side slits, high or lower slits, but I’ve never really seen a middle slit until I found this skirt. Although I’m not a fan of culottes,  the slit gives the illusion of shorts which if they were culottes I would probably pull it off the same way. I love to pair denim with white tees, tanks or a crisp white button down. It allows you to pair anything on your feet; heels, flats, flat sandals or even sneakers. I chose to add leopard booties for height (a must for knee-length skirts) and this mysterious red lip as my first (makeup) dose of Fall.

You know Summer is over when it’s time for New York Fashion Week

Have you pulled out your Fall booties? How high do you slit?
