White Three O

I put away all my black clothing for a few days to bring you an all white everything outfit.

End of Summer vibes…

Slit Ends

This here is my dress to impress, but nowhere to go look: an easy going camisole, a sexy skirt with a thigh high slit, and gold shoes. You never know, if last minute plans are in your future, you will always be outfit ready for one. 🙂

Who else loves to dress up on a daily basis? How was everyone’s weekend?

Stepping Out

Last week I went for a different look, and this is what I came up with, a touch of boho chic. I stepped out of my comfort zone when I chose to wear these worn out (nothing wrong with that) suede boho type over the knee boots with my office uniform. Normally I would have gone with a nude pump, buttoned up the blazer and added a thin belt around the waist for a sleeker appearance (try it), instead I decided to loosen things up and let the blazer blow with the wind! To not look completely washed out, I pouted my lips with Nars Velvet Matte lip pencil in Cruella. I’m not a fan of wrinkles (who is really?) and normally I would have passed on posting this look, but in the real life office world, sitting in front of the computer is part of my job and you’re bound to get wrinkled the minute you sit down! A girl can’t stand all day in heels! Try to stay wrinkle free ladies and gentlemen!

I should really start taking these outfit photos before I get to work!

What do you think of this look? How was everyone’s weekend?

Not Your Average Slit

I’ve always been a fan of side slits, high or lower slits, but I’ve never really seen a middle slit until I found this skirt. Although I’m not a fan of culottes,  the slit gives the illusion of shorts which if they were culottes I would probably pull it off the same way. I love to pair denim with white tees, tanks or a crisp white button down. It allows you to pair anything on your feet; heels, flats, flat sandals or even sneakers. I chose to add leopard booties for height (a must for knee-length skirts) and this mysterious red lip as my first (makeup) dose of Fall.

You know Summer is over when it’s time for New York Fashion Week

Have you pulled out your Fall booties? How high do you slit?

Frozen

This past Saturday was my niece’s 6th birthday party. The Frozen theme turned out to be a huge success and she was very happy to have Elsa and Anna attend her special day. After all she is a princess herself and princesses get together and do princess things. My sister and I thought it would be a very cute idea for all the ladies in the family to wear frozen t-shirts and style it in our own way. First we found one at Forever 21, then JCPenny had more of a selection, but not many in our sizes, Kohl’s had everything we were looking for. When I think of a graphic tee I automatically think jeans and sneakers,  but I totally went against the norm pairing my tee with a leather mini skirt and a black blazer. As much as would have liked to be in heels in my sister’s backyard, I probably wasn’t going to be able to move around as much so instead I added my Prabal Gurung for Target sandals that I haven’t worn at all and a bunch of my favorite bracelets to my outfit, keeping it young and fresh for a kid’s party.

How do you wear your graphic tees?

Wanderlust

This heat has everyone feeling all types of ways. For me it’s another tank top work day and yes you guessed it, another pencil skirt, but in this case the same red one worn a little differently. I chose to tuck in my top to emphasize my waist in a very polished way. My tank was too long for this idea and it showed more than I wanted to in the photos! You live and you learn! The best way to use the tucked in method with this type of skirt is to wear a bodysuit. Bodysuits give you smooth barely there lines. I like the combination of baby blue and bright red, but that’s all the colorblocking allowed. Pair your blues and reds with nude ankle strap heels for a sleek look. Feel free to add a fierce accessory: a statement necklace, a cuff or a cocktail ring with this look. Not all three!

How do you rock your pencil skirt? Are you feeling the ankle strap sandals this summer?

If I Were A Boy

I’d wear tuxedo blazers all the time. This jacket is opposite from the standard tuxedo blazer: black outside with white panels. I feel it’s much harder with the white panels because all colors will not mesh well against the white. Also the white is really not white, but cream, so finding a similar color is a bit challenging.

I didn’t want the outfit to look predictable so I spent some time thinking about alternatives. I finally wore it with a grey tank which I thought was an appropriate medium against the black and white, while adding jeans, made the outfit look less “black tie” and more my style.

Shoes are the main accessory in many of my outfits, so they always determine what metallics I’ll wear for jewelry. Gold won this time around. These Jessica Simpson gems were near my bed side table (almost all of my shoes are outside of the closet). The shoes really made the overall look shine. I don’t normally go to work with a clutch, but I thought it would be a great idea to show what kind of handbag could be paired with this outfit. The leopard, although a “loud” print, toned down the gold shoes just enough for daytime wear.

In the end, it turned out to be a perfect day to night look. Who knows? Someone might ask you out for drinks after work and you don’t want carry your everyday bag.

Will you try the menswear-inspired trend? What is your favorite metallic?
