TLC for your LBD

A little black dress goes a long way. You can’t go wrong with one no matter what the occasion. This LBD outfit was inspired by KKW on her trip to Cuba. I put this look together for a bachelorette party I attended 2 weeks ago. A bachelorette party or a club night is the only time you should go this short. Then of course there’s KKW that went sightseeing with all that sexiness. Instead of going for the choker with a cross like she did, I chose a heart locket velvet choker. Ever since I was little, I’ve had an obsession with hearts, so my 2 chainz moment both had pretty little hearts dangling from my neck. I kept my hair loose even though the heat made it impossible to keep it that way! Then there was the shoes: Stecy never lets me down. Ankle strap shoes are classy even with a mini dress. For a mini dress, I think the more delicate the shoe, the better. Stay away from platform shoes to avoid looking extra clunky and trashy. Also, opt for simple makeup for the girl who who wants to balance out her sexy.

Let that LBD shine!

Happy Hump Day!

The March-ing Gram

Flashback Friday: Can’t forget my March instagram posts. It was cold, it was hot and it was cold again! There was lots of coffee, Spring flowers, selfies (of course) and some art this past month.  Follow me @budgetsai for more of all this and daily budgets!

Have a beautiful weekend! AccuWeather says plenty of sunshine in New York! Woohoo!

Before and After the Ruins

What’s the first thing we did every morning? Eat! I think I had guacamole that early a few times during the trip! It was just too good! I like to have an outfit for every occasion even if it is just breakfast. On this day I let my dress flow and my tan glow.  I love a good maxi dress, they’re just so easy to wear in warm weather. Pair them with flat sandals or a high-heeled sandal for those extra long ones. We always took short walks around the resort and I couldn’t help but to admire the colors around me, so much I put myself in the photos! On the evening back from the ruins, I went to dinner in an all denim dress. The rest is history…
Just kidding! I can’t wait until I wear this dress again in the summer. It was super flattering on the body, so if you want your booty to pop some, a form-fitting denim dress like this one can work just like your favorite pair of jeans. I’m almost 100% sure that every girl’s favorite jeans are the ones that make your derrière look good!
Will you go with the maxi dress look or the all denim trend this Spring/Summer?
Xoxo, BudgetSai

Tulum Ruins: Day 3

It was the middle of our trip and it was finally time to go see the Mayan Ruins in Tulum. We got on a local bus then took a 10 minute walk directly into the our destination. These particular ruins are the only ones that over look the ocean, a view that just takes your breath away. We spent most of the the time stopping at every structure and reading up on what each “building” represented for the Mayans. It was probably the hottest day of that week so we made sure to bring our swimsuits to take a dip in the water towards the end of our educational adventure. As we were leaving we stopped for some refreshing coconut water. Ahhh…

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Tulum: Night 1/Day 1

I’ve always wanted to go to Tulum, Mexico and this year I finally did. The warm weather, the authentic Mexican food (no pre-made/store bought guacamole here), the ranchera music, and of course the unlimited tequila! Aye ya yae!

Below you’ll see my appreciation for the beautiful beaches. We stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe Resort where they greeted us with margaritas and made us feel at home instantly. We reserved a table at Tequila restaurant inside the hotel to start off our Mexican adventure. A mariachi band played while we took pictures with sombreros! I wore a black jumpsuit with shiny gold accents for the first night in Tulum. To add a but of glamour, I brought along my sister’s vintage Chanel bag…tres chic!

Baywatch was my only inspiration for day one’s beach look: a high cut one-piece and tousled hair, a la Pamela Anderson.

What do you think of my all black looks? Any vintage lovers?

PS- I like to brighten my wardrobe towards the end of my trip to bring out my tan.

Bon Voyage 2014

Happy New Year!

Thank you all so much for all your likes, taking your time to comment and for all your support throughout the year. I appreciate it more than you know.

I can’t believe 2014 is gone and my one year ‘Budgetsai’ anniversary is right around the corner. I am thankful for all the love I’ve received from family, friends and those I’ve met along the way. I didn’t realize I wanted to do this until a friend told me to start a blog after using Instagram to share my daily outfit details. I was always interested in what people were wearing, but people would also ask me where I got what I was wearing? And I would actually feel like really? This? I’d tell them where, then they’d ask how much? And I’d say not much actually. I noticed that there were not too many budget style bloggers out there so I decide to give it a try. I love to share my budget finds with all of you and help out those close and not so close to me look for budget-friendly pieces whether it’s an everyday wardrobe, a night out on the town or just because you love a great deal.

Looking forward to share more of those great deals in 2015…

What would you like to see more of on my blog in 2015?

Below are some of your favorite looks of 2014:

Just Like Animals

The office had one more holiday lunch. What better way than to celebrate (again) in full blown leopard. I will always be a fan of leopard, but just remember if you’re not comfortable with it, less is more. You start off small and then work your way to a more bold wild animal piece like I did here. Also try not to accessorize much, you don’t want to look like a Christmas tree. I haven’t worn this dress out in so long nor have I ever worn it here in the City -a reminder that a vacation is getting closer and closer for me. Are you feeling the Winter blues? Are you ready for a vacation?
How much do you love leopard? How was everyone’s Christmas?
xoxo, Budget$ai
