Thankful and Delightful

I can’t thank my family enough for all the memories that still bring us together on Thanksgiving Day and really everyday. I love them very much. And although I’m the silent one who only expresses herself in #ootd photos, I think about every single one and the few friends I have that have supported me and given me advice when I’ve wanted to give up. I am so thankful to have my lovely family around me all the time, without them I don’t know where I’d be.

This Thanksgiving, I encourage you to be grateful for each day as well as each moment of each and every day. Express your gratitude to those who you lift you up and show your their appreciation, love and respect.

Today I wanted to start out the holiday season with none other than sequins. I bought this top without anything else in mind, but a few racks down in the same store there were a pair of distressed, ripped I mean torn up jeans. I’ve always like the dressy on top, casual bottom or vice versa so I took them, tried them both on at home and really all I needed was the shoes. I wanted something unexpected, dramatic -you know just like me so I went with the white after Labor Day.

Gasp!

Who cares?! It looked freakin’ good! Oh the bag was another total accident that turned out to be a winner. I had to go with a color and fabric that complimented the sequins – satin. Silky smooth, sexy and cool, satin.

Spread love and budget tips 😉 Happy Thanksgiving!

Love, BudgetSai

TLC for your LBD

A little black dress goes a long way. You can’t go wrong with one no matter what the occasion. This LBD outfit was inspired by KKW on her trip to Cuba. I put this look together for a bachelorette party I attended 2 weeks ago. A bachelorette party or a club night is the only time you should go this short. Then of course there’s KKW that went sightseeing with all that sexiness. Instead of going for the choker with a cross like she did, I chose a heart locket velvet choker. Ever since I was little, I’ve had an obsession with hearts, so my 2 chainz moment both had pretty little hearts dangling from my neck. I kept my hair loose even though the heat made it impossible to keep it that way! Then there was the shoes: Stecy never lets me down. Ankle strap shoes are classy even with a mini dress. For a mini dress, I think the more delicate the shoe, the better. Stay away from platform shoes to avoid looking extra clunky and trashy. Also, opt for simple makeup for the girl who who wants to balance out her sexy.

Let that LBD shine!

Happy Hump Day!

Storm King

In the middle of a crazy week, sometimes you need a B R E A K. Even the smallest getaways can become a great escape from that pile of work that just never seems to disappear. At Storm King, an outdoor art exhibition in New Windsor, New York about an hour from the City, I discovered a taste of art and nature I never knew I needed. A breath of fresh air to help cope with city polluted thoughts that can drag you down in your everyday life. It was the most relaxed and calm I have felt in a while.

I paired my zen outlook with a messy air dried bun, comfortable jeans, a white tee and Converse sneakers. The cardigan or what I like to call a coatigan was the thrift shop finishing touch: the vibrant colors reminded me so much of the Fall and it was warm enough to throw on and go. The fringe was on- trend and gave an added playfulness to the outfit.

I enjoyed my day trip to the Storm King Art Center. I highly recommend it if you love art, nature, and maybe even a hike if you’re feeling adventurous!

What are some of your favorite getaways?

I Believe I Can Fly

…in my Loeffler Randall boyfriend cape. The best thing about Fall is the different jackets, cardigans, and capes you can throw on over your outfit and make it a part of your outfit. Outerwear doesn’t have to be just a piece of clothing to protect you from the up and down weather, let it be a fashion statement too. Leave it on and show it off. 🙂

Happy Hump Day!

Before and After the Ruins

What’s the first thing we did every morning? Eat! I think I had guacamole that early a few times during the trip! It was just too good! I like to have an outfit for every occasion even if it is just breakfast. On this day I let my dress flow and my tan glow.  I love a good maxi dress, they’re just so easy to wear in warm weather. Pair them with flat sandals or a high-heeled sandal for those extra long ones. We always took short walks around the resort and I couldn’t help but to admire the colors around me, so much I put myself in the photos! On the evening back from the ruins, I went to dinner in an all denim dress. The rest is history…
Just kidding! I can’t wait until I wear this dress again in the summer. It was super flattering on the body, so if you want your booty to pop some, a form-fitting denim dress like this one can work just like your favorite pair of jeans. I’m almost 100% sure that every girl’s favorite jeans are the ones that make your derrière look good!
Will you go with the maxi dress look or the all denim trend this Spring/Summer?
Xoxo, BudgetSai

Match Made In Heaven

It’s been too cold (freezing actually) in New York, and my photographer has been working on some other projects lately and will be for another week or so, but I’m finally back! The best way to improvise with such tragic conditions is to share my daily outfits from inside my apartment, which is still under renovations. I have very little furniture to move around and can easily use any wall for a back drop! (And he takes good photos too).
For a late night friend’s birthday dinner, I wore a very cool piece from H&M. Really, I fell in love with the thumb hole at the end of the sleeves and so I had to have it. It sort of looked like boxing gloves and made me feel real tough wearing it. Surprisingly this is something I can see myself wearing over and over again. My style is written all over it: black, has a turtleneck and fits like a glove.
How are you all on the East Coast surviving the cold?
What has been your go to clothing item this Winter?

Polar Bear

What does a girl do when she’s cold? Wear a skirt of course. I brought out my summer skirt and went full on winter with it. I paired it with a turtleneck, tights, and peep toe booties. That’s right, I didn’t even bother to wear closed shoes. In my defense, I didn’t think the wind was going to tip me over like it did. These were the few photos I bravely accomplished without a coat! No wonder why I get sick!!!

Is everyone ready for the polar vortex? What do you wear during these brutal wintry days?

xoxo, Budget$ai
